Abstract

Abstract: This research examines in depth the existence and essence of Christian education with a focus on the analysis of its philosophical foundation and development direction. Discourses on Christian education are often stuck in the practical aspects without a deep understanding of their philosophical foundations. The method used is Descriptive Qualitative. The data was collected through a comprehensive literature search of primary and secondary sources, then analyzed using philosophical hermeneutic methods. The results of the study show that the existence of Christian education has a strong philosophical foundation rooted in the Christian worldview, while its essence lies in a holistic transformation that includes spiritual, intellectual, and moral dimensions. This research also produces a conceptual framework for the development of Christian education that remains faithful to its essence but responsive to the current context. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed to contribute to the academic discourse and practice of Christian education.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengkaji secara mendalam tentang eksistensi dan esensi pendidikan Kristen dengan fokus pada analisis landasan filosofis dan arah pengembangannya. Diskursus mengenai pendidikan Kristen seringkali terjebak pada aspek praktis tanpa pemahaman mendalam terhadap fondasi filosofisnya. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Kualitatif Deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui penelusuran literatur komprehensif terhadap sumber-sumber primer dan sekunder, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode hermeneutik filosofis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa eksistensi pendidikan Kristen memiliki landasan filosofis yang kuat berakar pada worldview Kristen, sementara esensinya terletak pada transformasi holistik yang mencakup dimensi spiritual, intelektual, dan moral. Penelitian ini juga menghasilkan framework konseptual untuk pengembangan pendidikan Kristen yang tetap setia pada esensinya namun responsif terhadap konteks kekinian.
